Odyssey Dance Theatre announces its 2025-2026 Company Auditions

Odyssey Dance Theatre (Salt Lake City, UT) will be holding auditions and casting its 2025-26 season.

Founded and directed by Broadway, Ballet West, Film and TV veteran Derryl Yeager, ODT is a professional Jazz/Ballet Company with performance opportunities including three home seasons in Salt Lake City with over 30 performances, plus a European Tour in the Spring. Thayne, Matt, Natalie, Brandon, Gev, Tadd, Marcquet, Tanisha and Hailee from the popular “So You Think You Can Dance” television show are from this Company.

Odyssey is looking for strong Jazz/Ballet dancers who can also do Hip-Hop and Tap - male and female, ages 18-29. Available contracts include: a one-show contract for the fall production of the Halloween spectacular Thriller (runs August 11th to Nov. 1st), and/or the entire season (runs August 11th - April/May 2025).

Auditions will be held:
Saturday, May 31st, 2025 – 12-7 pm

Dancers should bring pictures and resumes and be prepared to dance Ballet, Jazz/Contemporary, Hip-Hop, Ballroom and Tap combinations (bring clothes and shoes appropriate for each style) that will be taught to them at the audition. Bring pix & résumés, stapled together. Both contracts are paid positions with salary ranging from $400-$800/wk (depending on experience), including per diem, travel and lodging. ODT is Nonunion.

If you can't attend in person

For those who cannot attend the preferred live auditions on May 31st, you may audition via video submissions by doing the following:

  1. Learn and record yourself performing the 6 combinations here.
  2. If you do pointe work – please include a short clip of echappe’s, arabesque on both sides and a double pirouette each side.
  3. Fill in the audition form below.
  4. Submit links to the videos, a picture and resume and any additional dance reel you may have to: avanalstyne@odysseydance.com

All links to videos, audition form, dance reels and pictures and resumes must be submitted by May 12, 2025.
