Shut Up and Dance - 2027

Odyssey’s Spring Repertory Season is a dance lover’s buffet, with something for everyone. Deseret News said, “Odyssey Dance Theatre’s Shut Up and Dance season only proves that it is a company to be taken seriously. Bravo!”
Shut Up and Dance is where the dancers and choreographers get to stretch their artistic muscle and really show off their abilities and different styles in smaller repertory-style works. Derryl said, "We again stress accessibility but we are not afraid to explore more innovative choreographic styles of movement. The title says it all. Dance is an amazing form of expression that doesn’t require manuals and textbooks to understand. It communicates to all and across all boundaries.”
This year’s program will include the following:
Let It Be
Odyssey returns to its roots with an audience favorite that put Odyssey on the map. Back by popular demand, Let It Be is a full-length, smash hit at home and on tour. The Beatles Anthology includes tunes such as, Yesterday, Come Together, and Help. "Let it Be offers pieces of Brilliance and Nostalgia" - Salt Lake Tribune.

The MJ Show
The return of another audience favorite: The outstanding tribute to music of the King of Pop - Michael Jackson. MJU was an unqualified hit in SLC and Europe and received rave reviews and standing ovations wherever it was performed. Using songs from Michael Jackson's long and varied musical career, including The Way You Make Me Feel, Rockin' Robin, Thriller, Earth Song, and Billie Jean, Odyssey has created a moving and dance-filled tribute that will make sure you Blame it on the Boogie!

UNLEASHED! Odyssey Dancers' talents on full display! A full evening of repertoire works with several world premieres. The show will close with a trip down memory lane with SOULTOWN REVIVAL - a tribute to the early sounds of Motown. UNLEASHED will be a tour de force showcasing Odyssey's eclectic styles and dynamic dancers!
